Practical advice for its good functioning
Any type of wood can be used to heat the oven. The oven will be ready for cooking when, after being turned on, it first becomes black inside and then white.
Before starting the cooking you should clean the floor of any remains of the fire and ashes. If you wish to cook for example bread and pizza you should clean the oven again with a damp cloth;
while as for roasts you can leave some cinders at the sides.
To see that everything is going well during the cooking you can use the little sliding window at the centre of the door.
If you have to use the oven for a second cooking, the new heating will be carried out with half the quantity of wood.
If you wish to use a single cooking for two different types of food for example, you have to insert first the roast and then, when you open the oven to turn it after about 30 minutes,
you can introduce the lasagne and leave to cook for approximately another 60 minutes.
Approximate cooking times
Pizza: about 10 minutes – Pies and tarts: about 20 minutes – Cakes: about 20 minutes – Cannelloni: about 20 minutes - Lasagne: about 50 minutes – Bread: about 70 minutes – Roasts: about 80 minutes.
